It is hard to part with items you have spent money on or that have been given to you by a close friend, but it is an important part of keeping your house and mind clutter-free. Get rid of the old to make way for the new. You do not want to be wasteful by any means, but you do have to accept that some things need to go. Once you get going on this, it does get easier. You start to feel a sense of relief as you rid your space of old, broken, and outdated things. If it helps you, try to do it with a friend or family member who can help you keep things in perspective. It makes it a lot more fun as well as allows you to accomplish more, faster. You could even trade time by having her help you through the removal process and then doing the same for her.
